Wednesday Roundup: Marketing Resources
Become a better Marketer
If you want to be featured on a Wednesday Roundup, just send me an email and let me know the brilliant insights you have recently written!
Here at Sery Content Development, we have carved our niche in the marketing world. We focus on SEO, content marketing, and Facebook marketing. But if you’re a business owner, manager, or in charge of making decisions, then you know that there is much more to marketing than just that small little niche that we occupy. And if you’re bootstrapping your business, or if you’re still in the business infancy stages, then you know that you need to understand the full gamut of marketing..
The problems that we can tend to run into is that there is so much information on the internet, that it takes time to sift through it all. And most of us are short on time. In today’s Wednesday Roundup, we have compiled the experts that have taken their time to find the best marketing resources online. All you have to do is find those that teach you something that you don’t understand, and start learning.
Learn While You’re Driving
Personally, I don’t drive enough to make listening to podcasts worthwhile. And if I’m at home, I would rather read than listen. But that’s not quite true for most people, and if you have a commute that’s over 20 minutes, then you can definitely maximize your time in the car by listening to podcasts that will help make you a better marketer.
Not long ago Adithya from TechWyse sent me an email. He suggested that I might be interested in checking out a recent post that gathered together 121 podcasts about marketing. Not being big into podcasts, I wasn’t quite sure if it was something to include in a roundup, but after reviewing the page, there is definitely a lot of great information to be had. If you can’t find something of value in a group of 121 marketing experts sharing their expertise, then perhaps a new career is in order.
Learn While You’re Sitting
If you’re like me, then you prefer to read, take notes, flip back a page (or scroll back up) to make sure that you understand the concept. Listening is great, but I feel I gain more when I read. So, let’s sit and read some marketing blogs together, gain some insights, and create an action plan on how we can grow our businesses!
I follow a few websites on Facebook, one of which is Inc. Their content is generally less spammy than many others, but not over the top technical like you find in some of the more robust publications (Forbes and Entrepreneur put out great information, but often can be more difficult to read). So this article from Travis Wright was a great find. With 16 marketing blogs and publications, there’s at least a couple that will benefit you.
Learn While You’re Doing
Ben Sweetland once said, “We cannot hold a torch to light another’s path without brightening our own.” In essence, when we are doing, we are enriching our own lives as well. As you practice and participate in your marketing campaigns, you will get better at them learning what works and what doesn’t work. But if you’re spending a lot of money on marketing, then you want to make sure what you’re doing is working to produce the maximum benefit!
Or, you can test your marketing with ideas that are low cost, or ideally free. They may not have as much of an impact, but could potentially start bringing in cash that can be used on more aggressive marketing methods. That’s where Kabbage comes into play. A few years ago they published a nice, easy to read, simple blog that outlines 7 forms of marketing that you can apply that won’t cost you an arm and a leg! Even if you have a big marketing budget, you should still be taking advantage of these.
Sery Content Development Provides Affordable Marketing
Once again you’ve wasted a perfectly good 22 minutes reading this week’s Wednesday Roundup. And if you go through the links, and start reading the blogs and listening to the podcasts, you’ll use up even more of your valuable time! If only there was an affordable way to help promote your business. Maybe a small SEO company in Billings, Montana that would take over for your so that you can focus on what’s important: handling the surplus of clients that will come through the doors.
If I think of a company that does SEO, Facebook marketing, and content marketing, I will be sure to let everyone know. In the meantime, take a look at our services.
